SCOPE OF WORK Herndon/MLK Ditch The proposed project provides for the construction of drainage improvements (approx. 1700 linear feet) in the City of Kirbyville, Texas, including grading, reshaping and installing an earthen ditch, installing new reinforced box culverts, constructing new concrete headwalls/riprap, and associated improvements Specifically, the City intends to conduct the following improvements: Base Bid Items: Constructing 8’x3’ RCB culverts (approx. 253 linear feet), 4’x2’ RCB culvert (approx. 27 linear feet), including pipe penetrations through the box and all surface restoration all with stabilized backfill under roadway. Including reshaping the roadside ditches as necessary to enter channel, relocating waterlines underneath proposed drainage and casing sewer lines where applicable. Construct earthen ditch by reshaping and grading existing ditch (approx. 1240 linear feet). Constructing reinforced concrete headwall/wingwall, concrete riprap Constructing metal beam guard fence (approx. 797.5 linear feet). Providing and implementing traffic control. Providing and implementing stormwater pollution prevention. Providing trench safety systems as required. Conducting materials testing by a laboratory approved by the Engineer. Alternate Bid Item: Construct reinforced concrete lined ditch (approx. 1210 linear feet). Special Requirements and Clarifications The Contractor shall restore the work route to its original condition or better prior to acceptance by the Owner. The Contractor shall contact the owner at (409) 423-6191 prior to starting any work within the project area. Any changes in quantities will be addressed by change order and will have to be approved by the Owner before any work can be done. All excess materials removed during the project will have to be properly disposed of by the Contractor.
