What this bid is

The City of Palm Beach Gardens wants a contractor to build a new open-air pavilion at Gardens North County District Park, in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The pavilion is planned as a pre-engineered metal building, about 50 feet wide by 85 feet long, with an 18-foot eave height and roughly 4,250 square feet of covered area. It is meant to sit alongside a metal building fieldhouse already under construction at the park. The notice lists work that may include the metal building system, framing, roof and wall components, foundations and concrete, erection, anchorage, engineering, and permitting, and it says the design must meet Florida wind-load and hurricane requirements.

The notice also gives conceptual figures of an 8-foot sheet-metal wall component, a 10-foot entry height, and a 1:12 roof pitch.

Sealed responses are due October 30, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT, submitted through the City's OpenGov portal, where a free vendor account is needed to upload. Late responses will not be accepted. Questions go to Km Ra, Chief Procurement Officer, at kmra@pbgfl.gov or (561) 799-4197. The City decides who is selected.

As the agency published it

City of Palm Beach Gardens - Procurement Management Office has issued solicitation (attach a document), solicitation ITB2026-188PW.

The City of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, is soliciting sealed responses for Open Air Pavilion for Gardens North County District Park. Responses are to be submitted via the City's eProcurement Portal via https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/pbgfl PRIOR TO 3:00 PM on October 30, 2026. Late responses will not be accepted. The City intends to construct a pre-engineered, open-air metal building pavilion at Gardens North County District Park to complement the larger metal building fieldhouse currently under construction at the park. The proposed pavilion will be approximately 50 feet wide by 85 feet long, with an 18-foot eave height, providing approximately 4,250 square feet of covered area. The current conceptual requirements include an approximately 8-foot sheet-metal wall component, 10-foot entry height, and a 1:12 roof pitch. The project is expected to include, as applicable, the furnishing and installation of the pre-engineered metal building system, structural framing, roof system, wall components, foundations and concrete work, erection, anchorage, required connections and fasteners, engineering, permitting, and all other work necessary to provide a complete and code-compliant pavilion.

The Public Works Department wishes to construct the pavilion as a complementary facility to the larger metal building fieldhouse currently under construction at Gardens North County District Park. The pavilion is intended to provide a covered, open-air gathering and recreational area while maintaining the appearance and functionality of the adjacent fieldhouse. Because the project is a relatively simple, single-purpose structure with a defined footprint and intended construction type, the principal procurement issue is obtaining competitive pricing from qualified contractors capable of furnishing and erecting a pre-engineered metal building in accordance with Florida Building Code and local requirements. The proposed building is a relatively small commercial/institutional metal structure compared with many pre-engineered metal building projects in the South Florida market. Nevertheless, its location in Palm Beach County requires the design to address Florida's significant wind-load requirements, hurricane exposure, permitting requirements, foundation conditions, and applicable product approvals.

Responses are due October 30, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT.
