Police Firing Range Mechanical System Redesign
What this bid is
The City of Brentwood, Tennessee is asking for Statements of Qualifications for a redesign of the mechanical system serving the indoor firing range at the police headquarters, which opened in May 2021. The range is a six lane tactical indoor range, 25 yards long, that uses lead ammunition. The City has had trouble with air flow and smoke removal in the range, and a third party evaluation says the current mechanical systems need to be significantly reengineered or fully replaced. The range is on the first floor with internal access, so the redesign has to account for airflow from the rest of the building. Test and balance data is available.
The notice lists the work under HVAC and attaches a professional services contract, an affidavit of non-collusion form, and facility close out documents covering HVAC as-built drawings and test and balance. The notice does not state a budget, schedule or project duration. The City decides which statements to accept.

The Brentwood Police Department's headquarters facility opened in May 2021. The facility includes a six lane tactical indoor firing range which is 25 yards long and uses lead ammunition. Since opening, the City has experienced problems with insufficient air flow and removal of smoke within the range to meet the operational needs and safety standards of the facility. An evaluation of the range by a third party indicates the need to significantly reengineer or completely replace the current mechanical systems serving the firing range. The range is located on the first floor of the headquarters facility, with access internal to the building. Because of this the redesigned system will need to consider existing airlfow from the rest of the building. Test and balance data is available.
