City of Mercer Island, WA - Public Works has issued request for qualifications, solicitation 2026-RFQ-042.
The City of Mercer Island (“City”) is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to solicit Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from qualified professional firms to design upgrades to the water system along SE 40th St and E Mercer Way. The awarded firm shall be licensed and lawfully engaged in providing services in the State of Washington pursuant to RCW 39.80.020. SOQs with requirements, as outlined in the RFQ package, must be received no later than 5:00 PM on November 3, 2026. All SOQs are to be submitted through the Procurement Portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/mercerislandwa.
Work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to, providing professional services related to design upgrades replacing approximately 5,000 linear feet of aging asbestos cement (AC) water mains with ductile iron water mains. Other system components such as PRV vault, fire hydrants and water services will also be replaced, as further described in this RFQ.
Responses are due November 3, 2026 at 5:00 PM PST.
Questions must be submitted by October 29, 2026 at 5:00 PM PDT.
A non-mandatory pre-proposal conference is scheduled for October 28, 2026 at 9:00 AM PDT at SE 40th Street and 96th Avenue SE, Mercer Island, WA 98040.
