Jay Lively Ice Chiller Replacement and Maintenance Project
What this bid is
The City of Flagstaff, Public Works Facilities Maintenance, is asking for bids on a chiller replacement and maintenance project at the Jay Lively Activity Center in Flagstaff, Arizona. The work includes demolishing the existing water-cooled chillers, evaporative coolers, pumps, air control devices and piping, then installing two new air-cooled chillers, new primary chilled water pumps, air control devices and a hydronic reheat loop. The new reheat loop ties into an existing heat exchanger, and new controls, wiring and programming must bring the new equipment into the building's existing BAS system, with BACnet communication on the chillers. The notice also covers connecting new 6-inch chilled water piping to existing 8-inch mains with reducers, and an electrical service upgrade for which the City will coordinate with the local utility. The City says it will supply and install a new 1000 amp main switchboard itself.
This is filed under HVAC, Electrical, Demolition and Site Utilities. The notice says the contract goes to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive, and that the City decides responsibility using the criteria it lists, including any required Arizona licenses. Only a price proposal is accepted, on the bid tabulation form.
