Demolition General Contracting 14 days remaining

What this bid is

The City of Fort Myers Emergency Management office wants prepositioned agreements for removing derelict vessels from local waterways, so a contractor can be lined up before a future natural disaster. The work covers vessels that local law enforcement has marked as derelict or abandoned, including personal watercraft, airboats, barges, boats, and floating docks. The notice says the work may be partly funded through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Derelict Vessel Removal Grant Program. It cites Hurricane Ian, after which derelict vessels stayed in the waterways for long periods.

Responses are due 10 November 2026 at 2:00 PM EST, and questions are due 30 October 2026 at 4:00 PM EDT. The notice describes the 23 July 2026 pre-proposal conference, held on Microsoft Teams at 10:00 AM EDT, as non-mandatory. BusyBids lists it as mandatory, so confirm on the portal before deciding.

Bids go in electronically through the City's OpenGov portal, and a free vendor account is needed to upload. The contact is Jennifer Schmidt, EM Coordinator, at jschmidt@fortmyers.gov or (239) 841-4189. The City decides which proposals it accepts.
