What this bid is

Walton County is asking for quotes to demolish or remove by relocation an existing three-story residence at 5505 W Co Hwy 30A in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, under solicitation 01-27. The contractor would supply all labor, equipment, materials, permits and related services, plus structural component removal and required site cleanup. Either demolition or relocation is allowed, but the county must approve the proposed method.

The notice says the work covers the structure and work limits for one parcel, and that the county's September 22, 2026 approval of funds for purchasing this property and an adjoining parcel does not expand the scope. Commodity categories listed include demolition, excavation, asbestos and lead inspection, insulation and asbestos removal, garbage and trash removal, and house moving.

Responses are due 21 October 2026 at 2:00 PM CDT and must be submitted electronically through the county's OpenGov portal, which requires a free vendor account. Questions go to Josh Ervin, Director of Beach Operations, at josh+waltoncounty@wcfltourism.com or (850) 401-8225. The county decides which response, if any, it accepts.
