The County seeks to support tourism marketing and promotions programs to cultivate sustainable visitor demand that respects and strengthens Hawaii Island’s cultural integrity and environmental stewardship.

In an increasingly competitive visitor industry landscape, Hawaii Island requires strategic marketing investment to maintain destination awareness and air service viability while fundamentally shifting from traditional demand-generation approaches that prioritize visitor volume to regenerative tourism grounded in the County’s Tourism Program kānāwai principles (Kuleana, Aloha, Observation, Collaboration).

Responses are due October 9, 2026 at 4:00 PM HST.

Questions must be submitted by September 18, 2026 at 11:59 PM HST.
